ACOSTA EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
JOY & JUSTICE
ETHNIC STUDIES INSTITUTE
FEBRUARY 28–MARCH 1, 2025 | GROSSMONT COLLEGE, SAN DIEGO
Joy has always been at the heart of Ethnic Studies and educational justice.
In February, the Acosta Educational Partnership will be bringing joy and justice to San Diego educators through our 2-day AEP Joy and Justice Ethnic Studies Institute at Grossmont College.
We are excited to bring educators together across educational institutions to work together and deepen the critical work of providing transformational and exhilarating academic experiences for youth of color, marginalized and disenfranchised youth, as well as our families and communities.
Educators of any and all experience or interest in Ethnic Studies are welcome.
It is an institute for everyone!

WHAT IS THE AEP JOY & JUSTICE INSTITUTE?
The AEP Ethnic Studies Joy & Justice Institute is not a conference, but rather a 2-day intensive of K-16 Ethnic Studies professional development. After decades of Ethnic Studies instruction and professional development work in schools around the country, AEP will facilitate a dynamic learning space for educators to dive deeper into Ethnic Studies content and pedagogy by sharing their groundbreaking, research-based teaching practices. Participants will be introduced to the AEP Ethnic Studies Framework and Tenets that have successfully guided multiple school districts and programs nationally. When you combine these important foundations with engaging model lessons while having time for music, art, and maybe a little dancing, then you know exactly why AEP Ethnic Studies institutes bring joy to justice!
