Miriam Romero

Miriam Romero was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She studied at the University of Arizona, graduating with a BAE in Bilingual Elementary Education with a minor in multicultural children's literature; Miriam also holds a BA in Spanish and Portuguese Literature. She has worked as an educator in the Tucson Unified School District for thirteen years, twelve of which have been with students in the English Language Development program.  Miriam feels privileged to work with the children in her classes and was honored to be named Arizona’s 2018 EL Teacher of the Year.
